Short description
The antibody reacts with human monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) both natural and recombinant. MCP-1 is a member of the CC subfamily of chemokines. MCP-1 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine which acts both as an activation factor for monocytes and as chemokine for monocytic cells. Description
The antibody inhibits the biological activity of natural and recombinant human MCP-1. The antigen specificity was assessed by ELISA. The antigen specificity was further assessed by immuno precipitation and Western blot. No cross-reactivities with other cytokines have been detected.
Formulation
1 ml (100 µg/ml) 0.2 µm filtered antibody solution in PBS, containing 0.02% sodium azide and 0.1% bovine serum albumin.
Species
Rabbit IgG
Application
The antibody can be used for immuno assays, immuno precipitation and neutralization of human MCP-1 in bio-assays. Furthermore the antibody can be used for Western blotting and to stain MCP-1 containing cells in frozen sections as well as in cells cultured on cover slips.
Use
For Western blotting and immuno histology dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:10. For neutralization of biological activity in vitro dilutions have to be made according to the amount of MCP-1 to be inactivated. Before use in biological assays, the product must be filter sterilized and depending on the concentration to be used dialyzed against culture medium to remove the sodium azide added. Please inquire for availability of azide free solutions
