Technical datasheet
Description
Ficolins are a group of proteins containing both a collagen-like domain and a fibrinogen-like domain. They are found in various tissues. The domain organizations between ficolins and mannose binding lectin (MBL) are similar, although the carbohydrate-binding moieties are different. In man two types of ficolins (L-ficolin/P35 and H-ficolin) are present in serum and one type (M-ficolin) in cells.
L-ficolin/P35 (also L-ficolin, ficolin L, EBP-37 or hucolin) is produced primarily by the liver. The association between L-ficolin/P35 and MASPs/sMAP is Ca2+-dependent. MASPs in L-ficolin/P35-MASP complexes have proteolytic activities for C4, C2 and C3. L-ficolin/P35 also shows opsonic activity.
Formulation
0.5 mg of 0.2 μm filtered antibody solution in PBS (exact concentration is indicated on the label), containing 0.02% sodium azide.
Species
Mouse IgG1
Application
The antibody can be used for immuno precipitation and in immuno assays as detecting antibody. Furthermore the antibody is useful for Western blotting of non-reduced samples.
Use
For Western blotting dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:10. The antibody does not work in Western blotting of reduced samples. Using non-reduced samples only weak signals are obtained.
Storage and stability
Product should be stored at 4°C. Under recommended storage conditions, product is stable for one year.
