Technical datasheet
Description
The monoclonal antibody 2E9 reacts with human 2',5'-linked oligoadenylate (2-5A)-dependent RNase (Rnase L), a uniquely regulated endoribonuclease that requires short 5'-phosphorylated, 2-5A for its activity against single-stranded RNAs. RNase L, a 741 amino acid protein in human, functions in the molecular pathways of interferon (IFN) action against viral infections. RNase L is present at constitutive basal levels in most mammalian cells, including prostate epithelial cells. 2-5A binds with high affinity to RNase L converting it from its inactive, monomeric state to a potent homodimeric endoribonuclease. RNase L suppresses directly or indirectly one or more steps in tumorigenesis and/or metastasis. Furthermore RNase L is implicated in mediating apoptosis in response to viral infections and to several types of external stimuli.
Formulation
1 ml (100 µg/ml) 0.2 µm filtered antibody solution in PBS, containing 0.02% sodium azide and 0.1% bovine serum albumin.
Species
Mouse IgG1
Application
The monoclonal antibody 2E9 can be used for Western blotting, immuno precipitation and immuno assays as detector. Furthermore the monoclonal antibody 2E9 is useful for flow cytometry and immunohistology on frozen and paraffin sections.
Use
For immunohistology, flow cytometry and Western blotting dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:10.
Storage and stability
Product should be stored at 4°C. Under recommended storage conditions, product is stable for one year.
