Description
Afadin is an actin filament-binding protein that is involved in cell-cell adherens junctions (AJs) which directly interacts with the alpha herpus virus receptor, a member of the immunoglobulin supergene family. Afadin is colocalized with nectin at cadherin-based cell-cell adherence junctions in various tissues and cell lines. L-Afadin has been isolated as an F-actin-binding protein from rat brain. L-afadin is ubiquitously expressed and specifically localized at zonula adherens (ZA) in epithelial cells and at cell-cell adherens junctions (AJs) in non-epithelial cells. L-afadin has a splice variant, named small intestine absorptive afadin (s-afadin) which is abundantly expressed in neural tissue. Monoclonal antibody 3 has been raised against peptide 1814-1829 aa of rat l-afadin. Monoclonal antibody 3 cross reacts with human, mouse and dog l-afadin.

Formulation
1 ml (100 µg/ml) 0.2 µm filtered antibody solution in PBS, containing 0.1% bovine serum albumin and 0.02% sodium azide.

Application
Monoclonal antibody 3 can be used for immuno assays, immuno precipitation, immunohistology on frozen sections and Western blot.
Use
For Western blot and immunohistology dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:50. Fixation with PFA or acetone/methanol is recommended.
Storage and stability
Product should be stored at 4°C. Under recommended storage conditions, product is stable for one year.
