We are happy to introduce our new ELISA kit developed to determine in vitro quantitative C3bBbP levels in serum and plasma samples. The C3 convertase, C3bBbP arises during Alternative Pathway (AP) activation and is an essential factor for proper functioning of the complement system as first line defense against pathogens. C3bBbP can lead to rare kidney diseases like Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (aHUS) and C3 glomerulopathies (C3G). Both diseases are affected by elevated Ca and C3b levels, which result from the cleavage of C3. Therefore, the presence and activity of C3bBbP is an important factor in understanding rare kidney diseases like aHUS and C3G.
Features C3bBbP assay
Our new ELISA kit for C3bBbP is highly specific, and does not cross-react with other related proteins as shown in the table below. The new ELISA kit for C3bBbP, however, shows cross-reactivity with other species such as monkey (non-human primate) and mouse (table below). Since no specific kits for these species are currently available on the market, this kit may also serve as a suitable option for measuring C3bBbP levels in mouse or monkey serum and plasma samples
